Unqualified is a Southern Vermont-based jam band of three brothers—Harry, Max, and Nick Blank—who were clearly put on this earth to lift spirits, melt faces, and keep the good times rolling. With guitar, bass, and drums as their tools of choice, the Blank brothers blend telepathic musical chemistry with raw energy.
Their sound is rooted in the swirling improvisations of Grateful Dead and Phish, the raw soul of Cream and John Prine, and the unexpected turns of jazz fusion and classic rock. Their covers span everything from the Beatles to Green Day, but the real heat comes from their ever-growing catalog of original songs, including crowd favorites like Gypsy Train, Holy Scriptures, Cottonball Clouds, and Blue Iris.
With a deep love for extended jams and unpredictable set-lists, Unqualified delivers high-energy performances that often run three hours or more—shifting effortlessly between groovy originals and timeless tunes that spiral into unexpected sonic journeys. Whether they’re headlining a local Vermont venue or hitting stages across the Northeast, one thing’s for sure: when Unqualified shows up, the music is alive, the vibes are high, and no soul leaves unmoved.
Harry “The Kid” Blank: Harry (Harrison Royal Booth Blank) was born with a guitar in one hand and a fire to shred in the other. The first of the Blank brothers to start his musical journey, Harry found his early roots strumming along to a variety of classics from artists like Green Day and Alestorm. Since then, he has built a stunning reputation for himself in the Vermont area as “The Kid”, a musical prodigy who people will mistake for Jerry Garcia when they close their eyes and listen to his magical melodies. As the youngest member of the band, Harry carries the weight of lead guitarist and vocalist without a second thought.
Max “The Brainiac” Blank: Max (Maximilian Peter Booth Blank) found a desire to move the people and lay down tasty licks that could not be ignored. After beginning his early musical journey with Nick and Harry, Max took up bass and knew “this must be the place”. He completed his schooling at University, barely finishing papers in time due to the avid fever to learn just one more song. Max grew up listening to a variety of genres, from classic rock to contemporary music, and it shows in his mind bending and soul-spinning grooves.
Nick “The Polar Bear” Blank: Nick (Nicholas Jacob Booth Blank) is the heart and soul of the Unqualified deviant and spiritual sound. A drummer at heart, Nick played percussion for his school when he was younger. After falling in love with the music of bands such as the Grateful Dead and Phish, Nick knew his path. He joined forces with brothers Max and Harry to form the original Unqualified trio, and always kept the beat moving. Nick is the spiritual backbone of the band, and puts Neil Peart to shame as he bares a face that always makes people smile and dance.
